DXF, DWG, PDF or even hand sketches with dimensions. For DXF we check scale, kerf and common-line nesting before quoting.

How is laser cutting charged?

Thin parts are usually quoted per piece or per cut length; heavy-usage orders per ton. Either way the quote lists unit prices so you can compare with local shops.
